SUPPORT

hi friends and family!
We are so glad you are here! If you don't already know, we are the McKisic's, full time missionaries in Tokyo Japan. Specifically we live in the nation’s capital, and the most populated city in the world with 38 million people living within 240 sq miles. This is the equivalent of the entire population of California living in a city the size of Jacksonville, Florida!! For the last decade we have talked about moving to Japan to share the gospel and expand God’s kingdom. Although the nation appears to be doing well (when considering the technology, entertainment, and trade that comes out of it), spiritually, they are one of the least reached people for Jesus. Though the statistics are hard to say what the actual percentage of born-again Christians is, the typical stat is “less than 1%”. This, however, includes faiths that Japan considers similar (i.e. Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventist, etc.). This nation needs Jesus desperately! The spiritual lack and desperation is reflecting in the families and economy of the nation. Young people are leaving to find more hope, the elderly are left to fend for themselves, families are breaking apart, children are being orphaned, suicide is a literal epidemic, and the population is declining faster than any other nation on earth. We will say it again, Japan needs Jesus!

As we mentioned before, we have talked and dreamt about Japan for the last ten years. After years of talking about it, we decided to give God our unified yes. From that point, in the summer of 2019, God began opening doors for us to go. Before this we had so many “valid” reasons to delay our move. Two pregnancies, college, lack of finances, inability to speak the language. But, ultimately, we were afraid. Afraid of losing opportunity for our kids. Afraid of failing. Afraid that people would think we were foolish and would not support us. Afraid that we were wrong. Well, we aren’t wrong. Jesus has called our family to love on the Japanese people, and  now that we are in Tokyo we will do so radically!

Our plan is simple. Love God, Love our neighbors, and make disciples! In addition we are going to learn the language and culture, invite in our neighbors for meals around the table, serve at our hosting church, 21st Century Christ Church, and grow as an Iris team, while saying yes to every person and situation He asks of us. This includes street evangelism, house church, teaching the word, speaking at churches, and hosting missionaries when possible. Some hopes we have are to see Japanese come to know Jesus and to draw attention to this amazing nation that needs our prayer and time.

We are asking God for the grace and power to do this ministry, and even greater opportunities and results than we can imagine. We are asking YOU to pray for us and to consider supporting us in this ministry. If you want to go deeper in prayer with us you can do so by adding your name and email to our prayer team form at the bottom of this page.

Financially, we are asking for either an annual or monthly gift. If you feel led to partner with us we have two options - a tax-deductible gift through Iris Global or direct donation to our Paypal account. Both have the ability to receive one time or ongoing support. Our family mission is to follow God at any costs and live a lifestyle of generosity and hospitality. We want to always be ready and willing to say yes. We would be honored to have you on our team and running after this call together. You can see both our current needs below along with links to give.

We are so incredibly grateful to have you here with us following along our journey and supporting our family. If you'd like to continue to receive personal emails and updates from our family you can do so on our connect page. Thank you for being here. We love you all so much!
